Belfast February 1912”, the verso inscribed, “Belfast, March 29th 1912, Dear Alec, Incle Clem will meet you at Broad St. The ship goes for her speed trials on Monday and leaves for Southampton on Tuesday … Love from Dad, [addressed to:] Master A.J.Littlejohn, G. House, Royal Masonic School, Bushey, Herts.” A fine card from one of those involved with the building of the “Titanic,” interesting “masonic” connection. £100-150

[TITANIC] a pierced oak hanging or desk top pipe rack over two drawers, with brass handles, with provenance letter (dated 1998) detailing how the pipe rack went on board the Titanic with the emigrating Davies family,but owing to the young son’s infectious illness the boy, the pipe rack and the parents were disembarked from the Titanic, probably at Queenstown (but the rest of their luggage remained on board) [see illustration]. £300-500

  85. [TITANIC] a fine original watercolour art work of the ‘White Star Liner “Titanic”’ [so inscribed by the artist], signed by the artist BERNARD R. LACHEVRE, and dated 1910, 10 x 14 inches, glazed, original frame and backing, also inscribed verse. The dating of this painting, by the well-known poster painter, Bernard Lachevre (b. 1895) is of particular interest, since it is one of the EARLIEST DEPICTIONS, i.e. pre-launch, with the bridge conforming to that of the sister ship, the Olympic [he would not have known in advance of the difference-to-be]; with MATCHING PAINTING, in uniform frame of the above, of the BOOTH liner ‘Hylary’, same size, a companion piece, dated 1909 [see illustration] (2). £5,000-10,000
