Held regularly in conjunction with our antique sales, the Paintings sales are always popular and usually comprise over 300 lots every six weeks. Pieces include prints, rare and antique maps, watercolours, 20th century modern art and antique oil paintings. Every lot is featured online and a detailed catalogue is also produced with most lots illustrated. Nicholson's Auctioneers currently hold the record for the second highest single painting sold at a provincial auction house. In 2004 we sold a painting by Francis Hayman for £620,000 including premium.
